NFL GAME PREVIEW
The late window belongs to the replacements
Four games. Jefferson’s missing targets, Seattle’s thin backfield and a Denver–San Francisco matchup that rewards looking past the scoreboard.

The 60-second read
- DEN +3 (-120) · San Francisco’s efficiency is dazzling. Denver can challenge how often it gets the ball.
- SEA -7 (-115) · Seattle’s missing backs make the remaining work more interesting than the headline total.
- Emanuel Wilson Over 49.5 rushing yards (-113)
These are editorial research leans at the quoted prices, not claims of a validated positive-EV model edge. Winner views are separate from bets. Overlapping game and player views can be correlated.
Minnesota’s defense is the appeal. Jefferson’s absence changes how to buy the offense.
Minnesota has allowed 0.21 points per play; Miami has scored 0.21 points per play. Add the Vikings’ 41.4% pressure rate and this is a difficult place to start a Dolphins passing stack. Miami’s ARBY run matchup also sits near the bottom of the slate. Neither the air nor the ground offers an obvious escape hatch.
The injury that changes the DFS decision is on Minnesota’s side: Justin Jefferson is out. Jordan Addison already has 91% route participation and T.J. Hockenson 68.5%. Those are established routes through which extra work can flow. The missing target share should not be split evenly across everyone wearing purple, and a comfortable lead could still reduce the number of throws available.
The current depth chart is especially important in Miami: StatRankings lists Jaylen Wright first and Ollie Gordon II second. Wright has no final game-status designation. Gordon’s share still needs to follow his actual role rather than an assumption that every backup receives a fixed workload. Malik Washington is the receiving return to examine when the build needs Miami to throw. Minnesota is my winner call. At a double-digit spread, I prefer choosing the roles to chasing a margin that can disappear on one late score.

Build a story, then build the lineup
Kyler Murray with Addison or Hockenson is the replacement-target construction. Aaron Jones with Minnesota’s defense is the control alternative. Malik Washington can be the opponent return in a passing build. Do not use Jefferson. The refreshed pool also excludes Jordan Mason and De’Von Achane; neither should be carried forward from an older lineup.

This is a two-way running-back game hiding behind the quarterbacks.
Kenneth Walker III has an 18.4% target share and 15 red-zone carries. Ashton Jeanty has a 17.4% target share and 15 red-zone carries. Both backs can stay involved without their team controlling every possession. That is more interesting than treating Kansas City–Las Vegas as a generic invitation to stack the quarterbacks.
Jeanty owns 88.2% of the Raiders’ running-back red-zone carries in the Week 4 report, but his run-blocking matchup grades poorly and guard Jackson Powers-Johnson is out. Opportunity and efficiency are pointing in different directions. Walker’s five inside-five carries and five red-zone targets give Kansas City multiple ways to feature him near the end zone. Those roles are reasons to compare prices, not to declare a touchdown inevitable.
The Raiders have generated pressure on 37.2% of dropbacks and allowed only 0.29 points per play. Kansas City loses tackle Josh Simmons. Patrick Mahomes remains my preferred quarterback to win this game, but it is not a matchup in which I want to ignore protection and blindly buy every passing Over. The Chiefs are the winner call; the receiving work of the backs is where I want to spend the extra research time.

Build a story, then build the lineup
Mahomes plus Walker is a legitimate passing-correlation idea here because Walker actually has a receiving role. Kelce or Rice can be the conventional partner instead. Jeanty is a flexible return option; a second Raiders receiver requires a more specific passing script. Check Brock Bowers’ current participation before using his name as a shortcut to a full-time role.

San Francisco’s efficiency is dazzling. Denver can challenge how often it gets the ball.
San Francisco has scored 0.60 points per play, best in StatRankings’ Week 4 report. It has done so on only 54.3 plays per game. That combination is impressive and demanding: when an offense relies on exceptional efficiency rather than endless possessions, a couple of stalled drives matter more.
Denver’s run matchup grades sixth in the slate, while San Francisco’s grades 25th. The 49ers have Nick Bosa and Mykel Williams ruled out, with more defensive-front availability questions behind them. That gives Denver a plausible route to longer possessions and explains my interest in Denver +3. It does not mean the Broncos are suddenly the more likely winner; San Francisco remains my straight-up call.
Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle offer sensible ways for Brock Purdy to work around Denver’s man-heavy coverage and pressure. The Broncos have allowed 22.5% of targets to running backs and 26.5% to tight ends. Those are distribution clues, not guarantees of efficiency. The counter-script to Denver’s cover is simple: San Francisco turns a few ordinary possessions into explosive touchdowns and forces Bo Nix to abandon the patient plan.

Purdy with Kittle or McCaffrey, returned by Jaylen Waddle or Courtland Sutton, follows the way these roles can interact. Nix plus one receiver is the cheaper opposite-side construction. Mike Evans is questionable, so do not finalize a San Francisco receiving stack as though the active group is already settled.

Seattle’s missing backs make the remaining work more interesting than the headline total.
Seattle has Zach Charbonnet and Jadarian Price ruled out. Emanuel Wilson already owns nine red-zone carries and six carries inside the five in the Week 4 report. That is the opportunity to investigate first. A thinner backfield can concentrate work, but Wilson’s final projection still has to account for the actual active rotation rather than assume he takes every available snap.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba supplies the other concentrated role: 37.5% of Seattle’s targets, 47.6% of first reads and nine red-zone targets. He can be the correct receiver to prioritize without making any receiving-yard line a good bet. The Chargers have allowed a relatively large share of targets to tight ends, which gives AJ Barner a different route to usefulness when salary or the posted line matters.
The Chargers’ offense has allowed pressure on 37.5% of dropbacks and generated 0.25 points per play. Seattle has allowed 0.27 points per play and protected its own quarterback more effectively. That supports a Seattle spread lean. The danger is a competitive Justin Herbert performance that forces Seattle into a closer, pass-heavier game than the favored-control scenario. Both teams have played slowly in neutral situations, so I am not buying a shootout just to justify the stack.

Emanuel Wilson Over 49.5 rushing yards (-113)
Charbonnet and Price are out, Wilson has six carries inside the five in the report, and Arcline projects 17.7 carries. That is a workload argument for clearing 49.5 yards, not a generic “good matchup.” The forecast is 63.9. A split with another active back or a Seattle deficit would weaken it.
Build a story, then build the lineup
Sam Darnold plus Smith-Njigba is the concentrated passing stack. Wilson with Seattle’s defense expresses a different, run-led control script. Barner is a salary-based alternative, not an automatic addition to every Seahawks lineup. Tre’ Harris is a possible return; Ladd McConkey’s status must be checked before choosing the Chargers exposure.
